Govindana Hally is located approx 20 Kms from KR Pet near KIKKERI, belongs to Mandya District. Its in border of Mandya and HassanDistrict. A Hoysala style ShivaTemple. It has a wonderful sculptures outside and inside the temple. Still today pooja is conducted here to all 5 shiva linga’s namely Sadyojatha, Vaamadeva, Aghora, Tatpurusha,and Eshana. Every year in Karthika Masa I,e. in October and November villagers will do DEEPOTSAV (traditional lighting using mud pots, oil and cotton). This temple is under maintenance of Archeological survey of India.

How to reach:
From KR Pet, towards Hassan road 20 KMS journey till KIKKERI Petrol bunk. Take a left deviation from that place 4 KMS journey from that point.
Unique features of this temple:
Built on Land -- where as all other hoysala style temples are built on 4 to 6 Feet height platform in 8 edge star shape base.
5 Shiva lingam’s at one place, these are named as (In Talakadu we have to walk a bit distance to visit each shiva lingam)
Hosaholalu is located approx 3 to 5 Kms from KR Pet, Mandya District. A Hoysala style VishnuTemple. It has a wonderful sculpures outside and inside the temple. Front side is renovated by archeology survey of india, since it was dilapated. Still today pooja is conducted here to the main vishnu statue. It has a nice garden surrounding temple.
The interior of the temple consists of a closed hall (mantapa) of modest size with four beautiful lathe turned pillars supporting the roof. These 4 pillars are unique in sculpture one has 16 other has 32, 64 edges respectively.

If travelling from Bangalore take a right turn before entrance of srirangapatna bridge from there 32 Kms to KR Pet.
Before entering Melukote take a right turn towards KR Pet, 20 Kms from Melukote.
If you reach KR Pet by bus, from there auto’s too available to reach there
Unique features of this temple:
The temple is an example of a trikutakas (three shrined) temple with only the central shrine exhibiting a tower (superstructure) on top. Belur is Ekakuta, Halebeedu is dwikuta
A Panduranga statue which we don’t see in Belur, Halebeedu or in Somanathpur
A Vishnu statue (Called as Nambi Narayana) which has Chakra on left hand and Shanku on right hand. (Usually we see chakra on right hand and shanku on left hand in vishnu statues in all temples)
A standing Narasimha, which i have not seen anywhere (we can see Yoga Narasimha, Bhoga Narasimha, Laksmi Narasimha in all places like Melkote, Devarayana Durga etc.)

Bottom line is of ELEPHANT series, 2nd line from bottom is HORSE series which also unique compared to other, 3rd line is full of FLOWER and EMBRIODARY patterns which now a days seen on sarees, 4th line is sculptured with Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavatha etc., 5th line is full of SHARDULAS (an imaginary animal which has Cow ears, Lion legs, Elephant Trunk, Crocodile mouth, Pig body etc.), 6th line is a PEACOCK series.
Famous statues like Darpana Sundari, Visha Kanye, Vishnu Dashavataram statues, Saraswati statues etc.
Inside it has 3 Main Vishnu statues, Gopalakrishna statue, Vishnu statue, Lakshmi Narasimha with Prahlada.Main statue has 3 pranganas i,e Garbhagudi, Shukanashini and Navaranga hall
4 pillars inside are awesome because of the work, each is round in nature one has 16 edges, other are 32, 64 edges.
Inside temple, Top side is also wonderful not only in sculptures but also in interlocking systems. Even today they are detachable.
